Chatime Opens First Las Vegas Location Near UNLV
Chatime, the Taiwan-founded bubble tea chain with 1,400+ global locations, debuts in Nevada with two Las Vegas stores planned by year-end.
Chatime is making its Nevada debut with the opening of its first Las Vegas location on June 20 at 4626 S. Maryland Parkway, near the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. A second store is scheduled to open later this year in the Arts District. The expansion marks the brand's entry into a market it views as ripe for growth. Las Vegas has attracted new residents, students, and entrepreneurs in recent years, while the city's food and beverage scene continues to evolve. Franchisee Ashish Bhutiani, a former technology consultant who relocated from New York, will operate the locations. Bhutiani spent more than a decade building a consulting business before pivoting to the beverage sector. "After years in the technology industry, I wanted my next business venture to be centered on people, community, and creating memorable customer experiences," Bhutiani said. "Las Vegas continues to attract new residents, students, and entrepreneurs, and I believe Chatime can become a welcoming gathering place where people connect over something fun and approachable." Chatime's menu features customizable milk teas, fruit teas, and brown sugar pearl drinks with adjustable sweetness levels and dairy-free alternatives. The brand, founded in Taiwan in 2005, operates more than 1,400 locations across multiple continents. Zach Wei, Head of U.S. Operations for Chatime, noted that Las Vegas aligns with the brand's expansion strategy. "With locations planned near UNLV and in the Arts District, we're bringing the brand to neighborhoods where people are looking for convenient, social, and high-quality beverage experiences." To mark the grand opening, Chatime will offer the first 50 guests on June 20 a free 16-ounce premium milk tea. Buy-one-get-one-free promotions on select beverages will run through the opening weekend. Bhutiani plans to open six locations across Las Vegas as part of his broader expansion strategy in the market. **Why It Matters:** Bubble tea remains one of the fastest-growing beverage categories in the U.S., driven by younger consumers' appetite for customizable, Instagram-worthy drinks. Chatime's entry into Las Vegas signals confidence in the market's demographics and spending patterns, potentially spurring competition and further innovation in the category.
